Job Description
The Test Technician is responsible for executing electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing of precision potentiometers and related sensor assemblies to ensure compliance with customer specifications and aerospace/defense quality standards. This role supports production, engineering, and quality functions by performing accurate testing, troubleshooting, and documentation in a Lean manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform functional, electrical, and mechanical testing of potentiometers and sensor assemblies
· Operate and maintain test equipment and automated test systems (including LabVIEW-based systems, where applicable)
· Execute testing in accordance with work instructions, drawings, and customer specifications
· Record and document test results accurately in ERP/MES systems and inspection reports
· Troubleshoot test failures and support root cause analysis and corrective actions
· Assist engineering with test method development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives
· Support first article inspections (FAI) and qualification testing as required
· Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standards and internal procedures
· Maintain a clean, organized workspace in accordance with 5S and Lean principles
· Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, repeatability, and throughput
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field preferred)
· 2+ years of experience in electrical/mechanical testing in a manufacturing environment
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications
· Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and basic test instrumentation
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
· Basic computer skills (Excel, data entry, test software interfaces)
