Job Description
The Quality Manager is responsible for all quality operations within the company, including quality assurance, quality engineering, AS9100 compliance, and the administration of the quality management system. The Quality Manager is also responsible for quality performance measurement and driving improvement throughout the enterprise via identification of product and process nonconformances and implementation of robust root cause and corrective actions. The Quality Manager is the primary contact for all quality related issues and to represent the company with suppliers and customers.
Essential Functions
- Lead all quality functions and be the driving force and voice behind a high-performance quality culture
- Establishes and maintains a quality management system which meets the requirements of AS9100. Reports on the performance of the quality management system and opportunities for improvement
- Drives performance improvement throughout the enterprise through robust performance measurement, metrics and the established KPI’s
- Develop and maintain a high-performance supply chain via collaboration with Strategic Sourcing
- Primary interface to customers and suppliers for any quality related issues
- Identify quality related risks and mitigation during the bid process and contract review processes
- Reviews purchase orders, Engineering datasets, test plans, for compliance
- Provides technical reporting and analytical expertise in evaluating warranty and non-warranty repairs
- Develops, trains and assesses employees and sustains required staffing levels to execute the company’s business
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Qualifications/Minimum requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Quality Supervisory role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Expertise with ISO9000, AS9100, and other quality standards.
- Capable of reading and interpreting complex drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, GD&T, and familiar with standard testing tools, micrometers, protractors, calipers, height gages, and optical comparators.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form with all levels of management and employees
- U.S. Citizenship Required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English proficiently.
- Regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
