Job Description

The Sr. Quality Engineer is responsible for identifying, documenting and facilitating the continuous improvement of the business and manufacturing processes in accordance with ISO 9001, AS 9100 and customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Responsible for improving the quality of Companies products and processes.

· Interface with customers both on-site and remotely.

· Act as a Quality representative for source inspection on line for designated customers.

· Interface with department heads to aid in creating a quality product.

· Provide support to manufacturing, inspection, calibration and engineering departments as required.

· Monitor, maintain and improve customer and Quality System metrics.

· Approve technical documents.

· Prepare failure analysis reports.

· Document non-conformities in corrective action system.

· Determine cause and corrective actions for NCMR (Non-Conformance Material Report) for customer, supplier and internally initiated.

· Determine disposition of non-conforming parts and process forms to designated customers.

· Receive in RMAs and issue to Assembly or Inspection.

· Identify and document preventative actions. Perform corrective action to preclude or correct errors.

· Identify and purchase gauging to improve product and process quality. Recommend the purchase of new equipment as required. Train employees on the use of such equipment.

· Document and facilitate the continuous improvement of business and manufacturing processes.

· Responsible for the review of First Article Inspection reports.

· Coordinate new product introduction.

· Review and approve EOs (Engineering Orders).

· Create and maintain Process Specifications (PS).

· Produce and approve related procedures (AP, ATP, etc.) in conjunction with other departments.

· Quality review for New Product Proposal Plan.

· Research products and services as required.

· Review, change and approve process routers.

· Review, maintain and approve Inspection plans.

· Participate in Internal Quality audits.

· Participate in Material Review Board Activities.

· Develop, maintain and issue PFMEA when required.

· Participate in supplier selection and control.

· Assist in improving inspection methods and inspector skills when required.

· Conduct risk assessment when required.

· Review customer statements of work.

· Participate in customer and third party visits.

· Complete customer quality survey questionnaires.

· Perform all other duties as assigned or required.

· Effectively apply technical or professional skills within the context of the position.

· Effectively contribute to the successful completion of projects.

· Recognize/anticipate barriers to completing assigned work/projects.

· When standard procedures do not apply, use judgment and draw on past experience to interpret information, solve routine problems and/or recommend approaches.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Routinely performs duties in an office and manufacturing environment.

· Exposure to manufacturing level noise for prolonged periods of time.

· Is required to sit and stands for long periods of time.

· Must be able to pass an annual eye exam.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

· BS in Engineering.

· Minimum of 5 years in the Quality field preferably in an Aerospace manufacturing environment.
