Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the manufacturing process of high-end precision potentiometers. Responsible for supporting legacy and new product introduction build documentation and planning. You will leverage product knowledge and technical expertise to determine manufacturing processes and process improvements. Executes within a well-defined operations framework.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment

· Develops and updates work instructions for new and legacy product and related manufacturing process documentation. This includes work instructions, manufacturing specifications and standard operating procedures, etc.

· Support assembly equipment purchases through installation

· Assist cross-functional team of Production Supervisors, Quality Engineers, and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action

· Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation

· Utilize lean-manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs, and increase capacity

· Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking

· Collaborates with others to solve issues

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a strong preference towards Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials from an accredited university or college

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in Defense and Aerospace manufacturing

Desired Characteristics

· Direct experience with electro-mechanical manufacturing processes

· Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes

· Knowledge of AS9100/AS9110, IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001

· Strong understanding of and experience with Lean Principles Experience with CNC programming and operation
