Job Description
- Responsible for the setup and execution of product acceptance, qualification and environmental testing across Avionics / Data Links and Space Payloads products utilizing simple to highly complex and automated test equipment.
- Activities include the handling and manipulation of extremely high value hardware, installation of setup of specialized instrumentation, and various maintenance activities required to support general laboratory operation through written hand-off instructions, work order flow tags and released test procedures.
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- This position requires significant interaction with the lab engineering department, internal company customers, external customers, and end-users of company Products.
- Professional attitude and excellent verbal/written communication skills are a must.
- Daily schedule and task flexibility with minimal notice is an absolute requirement.
- Strong attention to detail is highly desired. Possess a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Performing electrical troubleshooting to determine problems in hardware or equipment.
- Able to work with complex machine and computer systems, with knowledge of dismantles, adjustments, repairs, alignments, assembles.
- Operation of equipment according to preliminary designs, operation or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings.
- Utilizing test and diagnostic equipment to perform hardware checkouts.
- Operation of test equipment such as: oscilloscopes, signal generators, counter/timers, logic/analyzers, DMMs.
Job Skills
- Strong desire for applicant to be able to work on 2nd or 3rd
- High School Diploma or GED along with a minimum of 8 years related experience OR Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years related experience.
- Knowledge of MS Windows and Office skills.
- Must be able to work occasional weekend, off-shift and over time work.
- RF testing experience.
- Preferable experience with either: Automotive system maintenance, electrical/power systems installation/maintenance, military aircraft or naval experience, or any directly applicable experience with avionics or space hardware or test equipment operation.
- Must be able to pass background and drug screening.
- Working understanding of Environmental test specifications (Mil-Std-810) and LabVIEW/TestStand is a plus, not required.
- Prior military experience is a plus, not required.
- Experience interpreting electrical drawings and schematics is a plus.
- Familiar with fiber optic technology.
- Experience with National Instruments software LabVIEW and TestStand, is a plus.
- Proficient experience with the troubleshooting of analog and digital from the system level down to component level is a plus.
- Ability to work with minimal documentation is a plus.
NOTE: On-the-job training will be given regardless of experience level.
