Job Description

Under general supervision, responsible for purchasing production and/or raw materials, equipment, supplies, services up to an authorized monetary level and evaluates suppliers to ensure the best quality, price and delivery. The selected candidate must have the ability to perform the essential duties & responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but is not limited to the duties described below.

Transacts a relatively large quantity of purchase orders for the products required, at fair and reasonable prices, within the required delivery time. • Examines purchase requisitions for proper description of items. (e.g., part numbers, specifications, etc.) Obtains and applies appropriate information for solicitation of responsible quotations from responsible vendors. • Establishes sources of supply that will foster competition and ensure adequate pricing, delivery, and dependability. • Provides sufficient documentation to justify procurement; maintains appropriate files on all orders IAW departmental purchasing manual. • Maintains good vendor relations. Responds to vendor problems and takes corrective action to resolve problems. • Maintains necessary liaison with all groups within the organization that are concerned with procurement, and also with vendors to ensure maximum efficiency. • Expedites supplier deliveries to ensure on-time delivery of material/services. • Ensures that all established purchasing policies and company policies are strictly adhered to.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration of equivalent work experience. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in active procurement/buying in an electronics-manufacturing environment. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have established negotiation and sourcing skills. Must be able to work in a team environment and capable of interpreting product specifications. Must possess excellent communication skills with ability to exchange information and interface effectively with employees and/or customers clearly and concisely.
