Job Description
This role involves executing and managing all aspects of procurement and material availability within an electronic manufacturing environment. Responsibilities encompass the strategic sourcing of electronic components (Active, Passive, and Electro-mechanical), managing supplier relationships, navigating the market, and ensuring that all materials required are available to meet rigorous production schedules.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Execute purchase orders for electronic components, custom-fabricated PCBs, and hardware based on customer-specific Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Proactively identify and mitigate material shortages, utilizing authorized distributors and vetted secondary market sources to prevent production downtime.
- Validate and audit multi-level BOMs for accuracy, identifying long lead-time items and component obsolescence (EOL) issues early in the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate daily with Production and Lead Technicians to ensure material kits are complete and physically present for the production floor.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with vendors to ensure competitive edge and production continuity.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including invoice discrepancies, shipping damages, and the management of Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs).
- Execute monthly reporting on supplier performance, focusing on On-Time Delivery (OTD) and quality metrics.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Computer literacy is essential, along with the ability to read, write, review, and approve documentation.
- Participate in company-sponsored and specialized training programs to enhance skills and professional development.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Experience within the electronic manufacturing industry is required.
- Mastery of electronic component identification (ICs, resistors, capacitors) and packaging.
- Comprehensive understanding of technical documentation, including assembly drawings, and manufacturer datasheets.
- Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel & Google Applications
- Minimum 3-5 years of technical buying experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business a related field; or 5+ years of experience within the manufacturing procurement field.
- Proficiency with ERP software systems and experience with inventory module optimizations.
- APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or ISM (CPSM) certification is preferred.
- Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members.
