Job Description

Responsible for researching, designing, developing and testing mechanical devices such as machines,
engines, and tools. Conducts basic process design and evaluation review ensuring compatibility of
processing methods. Reports to the VP of Business Development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsibilities include problem recognition, research, isolation, and resolution.
2. Resolves less complex to intermediate problems independently.
3. Performs in-house inspection of samples using different analytical tools.
4. Provides pre & post sales product information, advice, and technical assistance to prospects towards
the goal of achieving new design wins.
5. Capable of reviewing customer drawings and all applicable military specifications.
6. Capable of using system software to determine product costs and pricing for quoting purposes.
7. Capable of using system software to run product BOM’s, determine shortages and correspond to
customers.
8. Corresponds with customer to understand project technical system requirements.
9. Works to develop a position as “first line” technical interface during the design-in process.
10. Works with Engineering to resolve more complex problems.
11. Determine product technical strengths and weaknesses vs. competition in design-in contests.
12. Communicate internally, product challenges and customer specific requirements for the purpose of
resolution.
13. Coordinate technical support for purposes of overcoming design-in difficulties
14. Document special customer requirements and/or application utilization needs. Makes equipment and
material recommendations
15. Remain in contact with the customer to ensure continued technical satisfaction with the product(s)
chosen for the specific project or program.
16. Working knowledge of Inventor 3D, Solidworks, AutoCad or similar programs
17. Help test prototypes and troubleshoot mechanical design issues
18. Validate components and assemblies
19. Maintains a positive work environment by professional and courteous conduct and communications
with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendors.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associates degree in mechanical engineering required or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5 years of technical product support experience
