Job Description
To help implement the company’s Quality Policy and ensure that the requirements of AS9100 and other applicable industry standards are maintained.
RESPONSIBILITIES/AUTHORITY
Read and interpret complex machining and fabrication/assembly drawings.
Develop and enter inspection plans for company products.
Mechanical inspection of parts and material for initial qualification, and ongoing production.
Perform first article, first piece, in process & final inspection and generate required records.
DUTIES
Ensure that the documentation control process is maintained.
Participate in final release for shipments of all product
In-process inspection including 1st piece and last piece inspection.
Surface plate Inspection using dial indicator and height master.
Use of hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, gage pins, gage blocks, tool scopes, optical comparator.
use a computer and operating software to access data, retrieve data, etc.
Use of software including Adobe, Excel, Word, GageTrak, GMS. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Associate Degree or equivalent.
Certified Mechanical Inspector a plus.
Knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing, knowledge of coordinate measuring machines (CMM) a plus.
EXPERIENCE
Work in the aerospace or other high integrity industry.
Demonstrated ability to work in a small company environment.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Able to do own setups, perform own inspections, process control validations and make selection of appropriate equipment and processes as required.
Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work place.
Meticulous checker of documentation.
A team player who can demonstrate mature judgment and timely feedback to supervisor
Job Skills
5+ years of responsible activity in quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing engineering or mechanical inspection.
