Job Description
- Responsible for the SMT process from kitting through AOI in a fast moving low volume, high mix environment.
- Responsible for resolving process challenges, including SMT defects and assembly flow.
- Performs operator training and evaluations.
- Coordinates first piece activities, facilitates process defect reviews and ensures equipment preventative maintenance is performed.
- Evaluate new engineering designs and interface with Design Engineering to maximize opportunities to improve manufacturability.
- Programming and maintenance of SMT pick & place equipment listed below.
- Troubleshooting production related defects and correcting processes to prevent reoccurrence.
- Coordination and training of SMT operators/ Techs to minimize line down time.
- Optimization of manufacturing processes, including change-over/setups, to maximize production efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules for supporting equipment.
- Evaluate new engineering designs for manufacturability.
- Facilitate process defect reviews and actions.
Job Skills
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Must have 2 years of directly related SMT manufacturing experience and IPC-610 training a plus.
- AutoCAD and GCPrevue experience required.
- Experience with the following equipment a plus: MY500 Jet Printer or equivalent paste screening experience, My100 pick and place equipment including programming and troubleshooting packages, Juki Selective Solder or equivalent, Mirtec AOI, CircuitCam and Aegis.
