Job Description
• Performs assembly operations of printed circuit boards as directed by their department supervisor.
• Works from Engineering documentation and instructions. Logs labor and moves material in DBA system. Prepares shortage reports as required.
• Reports to designated work area prior to the start of shift. Organizes work load and prepares for the start of the shift.
• Reviews process documentation for any special requirements.
• Assembles material to process documentation.
• Assembles material to IPC-610 Workmanship criteria: Installs components per Engineering documentation; May perform masking of locations which are not populated or require protection; Perform component forming using identified equipment; May perform electro/mechanical assembly as required.
• Interfaces with Quality department to resolve issues.
• Interfaces with production manager on resolution of Quality issues.
• Ensures that work area is kept clean and that safety rules are followed.
• Participates in company or special training classes with emphasis on employee improvement.
Job Skills
• Must have a High School Education or equivalent.
• Ability to utilize all hand tools required for PCB Assembly
• Ability to read and understand Blue Books.
• Ability to determine critical points of assembly.
• Ability to identify component values.
• Be familiar with requirements of IPC-610.
• Must have good common sense.
• Must have manual dexterity.
• Must be able to develop a good rapport with other department members.
• Sitting most of shift. Some heavy lifting of circuit boards may be required.
