Job Description
• Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and measuring and test equipment.
• Keeps records of issue and turn-in of tools.
• Prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed.
• Unpacks and stores new equipment.
• Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment.
• Coats tools with grease or other preservative, using brush or spray gun. Attaches identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment, using electric marking (engraving) tool. Arranges for measuring and test equipment to be calibrated at established intervals.
• May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold, wind and extremely high noise levels. This position requires normal physical functions.
• May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers.
Job Skills
• Will be required to comply with safety requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment, where applicable.
• High School graduate or equivalent desirable.
• One (1) year preferred with required military tools.
