Job Description
• As a senior member of the engineering staff, working closely with Program Management, and takes a key role in providing technical interface with the customer.
• This is a senior role which assumes complete project responsibility as a Technical Director.
• Responsible for all engineering and other technical activities relating to the project.
• Ensures the project is completed according to project plan.
• Manages all project team resources which include inter-discipline coordination.
• Responsible and accountable to ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants, and the requirements of the Contract are being satisfied.
• Expected to have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of Communications Systems (Line-of-sight Microwave, VSAT, HF, UHF, VHF, and fiber optics) and Integration details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.
• Development of technical project plans for systems analysis, design, and scheduling of resources and activities to meet Customer performance requirements
• Creation and maintenance of the Project File Folder
• Identify risk and coordinate Engineering and Program Management to develop resolution on technical and/or schedule issues related to the project
• Provide regular project updates to Program Manager and Senior Management
• Act as primary technical interface to Clients and participate in Client, Engineering and Management meetings
• Accountable for managing progress of project and monitoring Engineering teams to ensure successful completion of engineering contractual requirements
• Provide technical consultation to Program Management and Business Development activities such as participating in the preparation and review of cost summaries and technical documents for bids and proposals
• Prepare and present technical briefings to Customer, Program Management and Senior Management
Job Skills
• Must have a thorough understanding of wired and wireless communications systems
• Tracking and reporting project progress including budgets
• Ability to lead a technical team in a fast pace environment
• Familiarity with environmental requirements & packaging techniques
• Must have or be able to obtain a passport and be available for business travel
• Bachelor degree is required, Master degree is preferred, in Electrical Engineering
• At least 10 to 15 years telecom industry experience
• Successful experience in Communications Project Management
