Job Description
• Responsible for building products to meet approved customer drawings and perform tasks related to the preparation, post-process clean up and validation of conformal coated and parylene of electrical/mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies with a minimum of supervision.
• Operator must be able to perform intricate processes that require strong hand/eye coordination often using a microscope and various tools to meet close tolerance masking and unmasking requirements of coated assemblies.
• Work requires adherence to process specifications, work instructions and/or various machine operational manuals.
• Works in a teamwork environment and works with a variety of gauges and fixtures for precision measurements of coating thicknesses and/or parylene.
• May be required to work with and handle units of medium to heavy weight. May perform other duties and aid other departments as assigned.
• Review incoming work order parts list and supplies to identify potential shortages and reports them in a timely manner.
• Operator may be requested to assist in determining best method to mask assembly or sub-assembly as new product and processes are being developed.
• Operator will be required to use computer software to move work orders (Shop Floor) and look up critical information (Visual Manufacturing), be thoroughly familiar with work orders, part numbers, and log accurate work hours in a timely manner.
• Operator will be responsible for maintaining a workflow consistent with our established run times in order to meet expectations and shipping requirements.
• Overtime and some weekends will be required as needed to meet production deadlines.
• Responsible to properly manage hazardous waste generated in his/her area. Must be familiar with Company safety practices, waste disposal procedures and emergency contingency plan.
Job Skills
• Epoxy / RTV Assemblies (Batteries, Hsgs, Transformers, Microphones, etc)
• Tape Assemblies (Polishing assemblies, Tape processes)
• Water Pack Assemblies
• Preventative Maintenance (parylene machine post run & spray booth change out)
• Washing & baking of electronic assemblies prior to masking.
• Masking / Unmasking Assemblies
• Assist in CC process (catching & touch up) of coated Assemblies
• Paint touch up (mixing & hand touch up of assemblies)
• Operation of parylene machine
• Any other basic duties other than spray coating of assemblies
• Work requires a high school level of knowledge of several subjects in order to read blueprints, prepare reports, perform calculations, and keep records.
• 3+ years of electronic assembly experience.
• Working Conditions: Good working conditions almost complete absence of disagreeable elements.
• Job Hazards: Injuries such as burns, cuts and abrasions when using hand tools.
• Dexterity: Adept at use of hand tools, microscopes, and computer programs.
• Physical Demand: Work which regularly produces a high level of mental/visual fatigue, 51-80% of work time. Requires moderate to heavy lifting usually not in excess of 40 lbs.
• Mental and Visual Demand: Continuous mental and visual attention. Read drawings, specifications, etc., and perform work to high accuracy and quality standards.
• Responsibility of Material or Product: Consequences range from negligible to significant.
• Responsibility for Equipment or Process: Uses small hand tools, i.e. hand drills, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, solder irons, etc. Dependent upon unit being assembled, also be required to use pneumatic hand tools, micrometers, calipers and scales. May be required to operate a variety of machine shop tools and equipment i.e., drill presses, routers, grinders, punches, brakes, and belt sander.
