Job Description
- Responsible for creating and/or coordinating the final design and detail, layouts of systems, components, and projects under minimum supervision.
- Work under the technical supervision to gather data, prepare technical specifications, create detailed physical and electrical designs, bills of materials, and prepare CAD drawings and other project documentation.
- Advise and coordinate with Project Engineer or Supervising Engineer to determine all the specific detailed requirements of the design. ie., allowances for motions and clearances, assembly procedures, critical machining dimensions, etc.
- Provide engineering support, advice and guidance to all subsequent following phases with manufacturing, purchasing, assembly and test.
- Maintain a high level of expertise in the detail design standards, practices, policies and processes.
- Follow and maintain SCH / PCB design process flow, support symbol / PCB library’s.
- Use a PC with proficiency and familiarity with one or more CADD design programs.
- Assist with integration of our tools with our electronic configuration management system.
- May provide technical direction to subordinate draftsperson in the preparation of detailed drawings when so assigned.
Job Skills
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Must be able to work additional hours as needed.
- High School graduate, or equivalent. Technical school and or college level engineering courses desirable.
- Minimum of 5-10 years design experience.
- Experience with Mechanical and PCB Design, additional 3D software, AutoCAD, Inventor, and ability to read assembly prints.
