Job Description
- Translate a mechanical or optical technical specification or component concept into a manufacturable, high quality and cost effective design
- Provide technical leadership on mechanical or optical design activities to accomplish performance goals
- Generate conceptual designs and proposals supporting production and R&D requirements
- Create design documentation for part/assembly drawings and manufacturing or customer specification requests
- Responsible for conceiving, designing and producing innovative component solutions for design issues with space restrictions, integrated electronics or complex surfacing (coated lenses)
- Use engineering analysis and simulation to design in product quality in the early stages of design to reduce quality issues later
- Support other functional groups with any necessary AutoCad related drawings
Job Skills
- High degree of professionalism, character and integrity
- BS in Mechanical Engineering a must
- Detail and Quality minded self starter
- Strong mechanical design experience (at least 5 years)
- Knowledge of Industrial Laser Optics a plus
- Strong communications & analytical skills
- Knowledge of Solid Works/AutoCad
