Job Description
- RFP/RFQ, negotiations, and Purchase Order placement, expediting and problem resolution.
- Negotiates and Procures complex and simple materials, machine parts, raw material, hardware, supplies and equipment based on requirements.
- Generates Supplier Activation, Reactivation or Inactive form and submits to Quality for production items.
- Maintain Purchase Orders and other required documents to ensure compliance.
- Sets up outside services for manufactured parts.
- Locates new sources of supply when necessary to achieve optimal cost, delivery, and quality.
- Resolves technical problems with Supplier and Engineering for manufactured parts.
- Involved with Problem resolution for accounting, receiving and quality issues.
- Assists Engineering and R&D Departments during new product design to optimize supply chain cost-effectiveness and ensure lead times.
- Participates in Production Meetings to ensure parts from Suppliers meet the company’s delivery schedule.
- Drives cost reduction and increases performance by monitoring Suppliers performance for cost delivery, timeliness, and quality through LEAN initiatives.
Job Skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Minimum 5 years Buyer experience.
- 2 years of experience in Manufacturing setting preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems preferred.
- Excellent blue print reading and understanding machining capabilities.
- Preferred background in dealing with aerospace requirements (industry experience).
- Must have strong verbal and written English communication skill.
- Must be knowledgeable in all phases of purchasing, expediting, and contracts negotiation.
- Proficient with using office technologies (e.g. MS Office, copier, scanner, printer, and PC Desktop).
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
