Job Description
• Initiates changes to manufacturing methods and processes (solder and chip & wire assemblies) to obtain optimum production levels, improve product quality, and reduce costs during the initial design phase, through the testing of one or more prototypes and following the project through to final manufacture and implementation.
• Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs. Recommends equipment and machinery purchases and ensures that cost estimates are obtained to support findings.
• Discusses and solves complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
• Attends design reviews; reviews and approves proposals. Participates in Make/Buy decisions.
• Directs the creation of Visual manufacturing structures that include labor standards and manufacturing steps.
• Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements.
Job Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Requires minimum of fifteen (15) years related experience.
