Job Description
• Experienced Senior Electronics Engineer familiar with firmware development, FPGA design, fast data acquisition systems (preferably in opto-electronic instrumentation), USB communication, single photon counting technologies.
• Work both autonomously and as a part of the engineering team to develop and release to the market new cutting edge scientific instruments
• Actively participate in the strategic planning of the product line technical improvements
• Interface with company scientists/salespeople on the market requirements
• Plan development projects providing timelines and milestones reviews
• Produce principal diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams as required
• Design, prototype and test digital (primarily) and analog systems, components and circuits
• Manage outsourced engineering projects for budget, quality, and timeline
• Support Production and Manufacturing Engineering with technical troubleshooting
• Research, offer and justify technical solutions for the product performance improvement and the cost of production optimization
• Create firmware for advanced data acquisition and processing electronics
• Interface electronics with a computer via USB
Job Skills
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• 7 years of electronic development experience in the industrial environment
• Demonstrable program/project management experience
• Strong PCB design and production experience
• Electronic troubleshooting experience required
• Proficiency with microprocessor firmware development in C and Assembly. (Microprocessor families 8051, PIC, MSP430)
• Robotics (firmware control of peripheral devices)
• Proficiency in designing fast data acquisition systems. Experience in single photon detection opto-mechanical systems is a plus
• FPGA/PLD experience is a plus
• LabView experience a plus
• Experience in system design with Atmel/Arduino is desired
• Experience in bio-chemical industry is a plus
