Job Description
- Performs hand soldering and touch-up of solder joints to comply with J-STD and IPC-610 standards.
- Understands the hand soldering process and able to make good judgment concerning good and bad solder joints.
- Uses care in the operation of soldering irons and understands safety issues related to hand soldering and the workplace.
- Able to perform repetitive assembly tasks with accuracy and dexterity.
- Able to read and understand engineering documentation.
- Organizes work load, and prepares for the start of the shift.
- Reviews engineering documentation for any special requirements.
- Performs tasks as directed by the Production Manager.
- Performs solder touch-up to IPC-610 and J-STD workmanship criteria.
- Interfaces with managers and peers to resolve issues.
- Interfaces with Production Manager and Quality Assurance Manager for resolution of quality issues.
- Works accurately and timely.
- Ensures the work area is kept clean and that safety rules are followed.
- Participates in company or special training classes with emphasis on employee
Job Skills
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience utilizing IPC 610/J STD.
- Experience with soldering components onto printed circuit board.
- Experience soldering fine-pitched parts preferred.
- Two years electronics assembly experience.
- Ability to use simple mechanical tools.
- Ability to read and understand engineering documentation.
- Ability to identify component values.
- Working knowledge of IPC 610/J-STD
- Ability to perform hand soldering.
- Ability to identify both good and bad solder joints.
- Great attention to detail.
- Sitting most of the shift. Lifting racks or pushing carts of circuit boards may be required.
- May be up to 10-15lbs
