Job Description

This position operates Surface Mount Technology (SMT) automated electronic manufacturing pick and place equipment to manufacture PC Boards to meet production schedules and performance standards. Performs periodic clean-up and machine maintenance.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Reads and follows assembly prints, schematics, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications.

·        Performs set-up and programming of automated SMT pick and place machines to manufacture PC Boards to meet production and performance standards.

·        Operates reflow oven, screen printer and stencil cleaner

·        Performs touch-up soldering as needed.

·        Keeps accurate and up-to-date records.

·        Participates in troubleshooting and problem solving.

·        Recognizes equipment and product problems, notifies supervisor and/or troubleshoots errors in order to achieve optimum production levels.

·        Interfaces with others to communicate issues, troubleshoot failures, and maintain a high standard of quality and repeatability in processes, products, and machinery

·        Other duties as assigned

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·        Primarily works in a manufacturing environment which may be noisy and fast paced. Because of the nature of the product being produced, high voltage and current conditions exist and appropriate precautions must be observed.

·        Overtime may be needed in times of increased production.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·        Standing 50%

·        Walking 10%

·        Sitting 40%

·        Carrying 30lbs.

·        Pushing 30lbs.

·        Pulling 40lbs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions

·        Ability to identify components

·        Ability to read blueprints, schematics, work instructions, BOMs, drawings

·        Ability to work independently

·        Familiarity with IPC standards and ESD precautions

·        Ability to recognize problems in the process or with components and resolve problems

·        Ability to work effectively in a team environment

 

EXPERIENCE:

·        Two years of experience programming and operating SMT automated pick and place equipment preferred

 

EDUCATION:

·        High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
