Our client is a leading manufacturer of data entry devices, displays, and power supplies based in mid-eastern Suffolk county, Long Island.
We are seeking a full time responsible Quality Control Lead Inspector/Supervisor with at least 5 years of experience.
Job Description
Supervise and Perform quality control inspections (Receiving, In-Process and Final), for the manufacture of products and component parts. Inspect materials, parts and products at different stages of production. Record observations and make recommendations for process improvement. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the electronics field. Rely on knowledge, experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Hire, schedule and train inspection staff. Ensure manufacturing performance and quality goals are met. Maintain compliance for our safe, clean and healthy work environment by educating and directing personnel regarding company policies, proper equipment use, and use of related resources. Must be familiar with electronic manufacturing ERP systems, practices and procedures. Leads and directs the work of others.
Hard / Soft Skills Needed
Ability to use basic inspection tools is necessary (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, magnified inspection equipment, etc.). Self-starter and requires minimal supervision. Knowledge of quality systems, ESD handling, standard safety procedures as well as industry standard IPC-A-610 acceptability of electronic assemblies and J-STD-001 requirements for soldered electrical and electronic assemblies. Basic competence with computer, including the use of MS Office (Windows, Word and Excel), with experience in the use of ROI a plus.
