Job Description

  • Responsible for creation of the master schedule and maintenance of MRP to satisfy customer demand and to maintain effective minimum inventory levels and accuracy for Raw Material, WIP and finished goods.
  • Use customer schedules, sales forecasts, and shop capacity data to effectively schedule shop resources to meet customer demand.
  • Maintain and update Master Schedule on a daily basis to ensure on time delivery performance is maintained
  • Communicate customer commitments to Customer Support on a weekly basis
  • Monitor and maintain inventory to ensure target finished goods levels are established and maintained, surplus levels do not occur and inventory turns targets are met
  • Monitor and audit inventory transactions and BOM accuracy (lead times, etc.) on a regular basis
  • Communicate schedule changes to operations and manufacturing planners
  • Coordinate with production, sales and customer support for review of all new orders
  • Coordinate with engineering and production for review of NPI orders
  • Work with operations to help prioritize the shop floor in support of all customer requirements and adjust master schedule for capacity constraints
  • Participate in vendor/customer calls as required
  • Attend production meetings as required
  • Monitor and maintain MRP and master schedule maintenance reports
  • Execute the strategy for material management and inventory control for the program.
  • Execute material planning and inventory management initiatives in support of established inventory goals/objectives.
  • Track KPIs (on-time starts/completions, work-order aging, inventory aging, etc.)
  • Create SIOP dashboard and manage these metrics, including action item follow-up.
  • Support monthly program Sales and Operating planning process.
  • Work with counterparts at company sites to ensure 100% fidelity of demand signaling to MPS
  • Support plant capacity data reviews

Job Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office particularly Excel
  • Experience with materials or manufacturing planning using MRP/ERP systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
  • APICS Certification preferred
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with and influence people from all levels of the organization as well as external contacts
  • The position requires close attention to detail, strong problem solving and analysis skills and knowledge of manufacturing planning processes
  • Must also be proficient in MS office applications with particular focus in Excel as well as internal computer systems (Symix/ERP)
