Job Description
- Use technical knowledge along with sales skills to lead the sales process.
- Responsible for sales, forecasting and growth; by maintaining existing customer base and increasing new customer base within the designated sales territory.
- Gain customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating products.
- Identify new program opportunities and present them to the engineering and management team.
- Visit current and potential customers’ engineers, designers, managers, and procurement professionals. Travel 50% expected.
- Manage and follow up on leads in assigned territory.
- Provide technical support to customers by communicating feedback from Engineering and Management.
- Prepare and submit weekly sales reports.
- Share market information with other departments throughout the organization.
- Use CRM to record customer information, track open projects, and document contact activity.
- Work the company’s booth at trade shows, up to several times per year.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; as well as implementing company directives.
Job Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales
- Marketing background a plus
- US Citizen or permanent resident
