Job Description
- Inspect soldered PC Boards, hand solder, modify, repair and wire where required, test/troubleshoot, partially or completely, working at bench or on shop floor.
- Read assembly drawings and perform operations according to a Manufacturing Routing.
- Inspect and correct PC Board assemblies to standard according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following drawings or engineering change notices (ECN).
- Perform soldering operations in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards.
- Check parts against bill of materials and print.
- Assemble all product per procedure.
- Prepare sub-assemblies required for product per print.
- Splice cables.
- Read “X” assembly prints.
- Check for solder shorts and continuity.
- Follow company ESD policy.
- Hand-solder basic and advanced through-hole components into PC boards as per applicable standards.
- Inspect and/or repair through-hole solder joints.
- Remove/replace through-hole components.
- Cut traces/add jumper wires/piggy back components as required.
- Assemble PC boards into sub-assemblies per assembly drawings using designated brackets, hardware and tooling.
- Solder board to board connections when building subassemblies.
- Insert standoffs and pins using the designated tooling.
- Assemble components and subassemblies using pop rivets and/or other designated hardware.
- Mask and unmask PC boards for conformal coating and spray conformal coating.
- Preform through-hole components to fit board locations as required.
- On Military orders, Solder printed circuit boards in accordance with military specifications and standards.
- On Military orders, wire control panels, p/n 058-8024-001, in accordance with military specifications and standards.
- Tracks & Processes production related transactions in the ERP software
Job Skills
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple ENGLISH instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write, in ENGLISH, simple correspondence.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
- Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight, measurement, volume and distance.
- General knowledge on ESD safety practices.
- Ability to use the following equipment: Soldering irons; Solder pot; Digital scales; Degreaser; Ovens; Wrist bands; Tablemats; Sandblaster; Desoldering tools; Digital multimeters.
