Job: Quality Inspector

Work from and follow complicated blueprints, company specifications, purchase specifications, FAA regulations, quality assurance manuals, various handbooks, travelers, engineering/tooling/rework orders, engineering schematics, and written/verbal instructions.
Interface with Production, Engineering, and other departments as necessary to achieve corrective actions and determine cause.
Verify compliance with functional/system test, procedures, type design data, flight safety requirements, and cosmetic acceptability.
Use shop math, conversion charts, process charts, and formulas to accomplish required inspections.
Must be capable of being company certified in NDT for the metal bonding or welding departments, and/or qualified in basic machine shop inspection.
May be required to assist in tracking/managing project progress/status.
Make decisions on safety of flight issues and release to flight or certification of aircraft.
Perform a variety of difficult visual and physical inspections and tests to aircraft and flight systems providing written report regarding inspection and testing results as required.

Experience with the use of a FARO Arm and/or CMM for model based inspection performed.
High School Diploma or GED.
At least five years experience within a quality capability in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic and advanced mathematics skills, with a working knowledge of geometric tolerances (GD&T) required.
Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing process and quality system required.
Experience performing first article inspection (FAI) required.
Working knowledge of Windows based computer programs such as: Word, Excel, and MS Project required.
Experience with the use of Quality/Manufacturing Systems elements such as: CMM machines, ERP systems, FAA regulations, Project Management, Six Sigma, Conformity Inspection/Quality Plans is preferred.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
