Job Description

  • Collaborate with Engineering management and Marketing to create roadmaps via technology benchmarking and anticipating application trends.
  • Develop technology strategies as well as detailed tactical plans for execution.
  • Work directly with OEM technical counterparts to determine system-level requirements and to drive capability developments that meet or exceed market requirements.
  • Participate in a structured capability development process which encompasses exploratory R&D projects through concept development, demonstration and knowledge transfer.
  • Develop innovative product solutions with an emphasis on designing and validating complex mixed signal, analog and digital circuits (sensors, cable, ADC and DAC components, power supplies, integrated circuits, electro-optical conversion and associated IO), aided by the application of simulation and analysis tools.
  • Specify and select components and subsystems.
  • Generate verification protocols, perform or direct the performance of verification tests and write or approve the content of verification reports. Support the documentation activities needed to meet internal and external requirements, specifications and standards.
  • Support the execution of development projects by contributing technical data and project updates to the cross-functional product team.
  • Work within and at times lead the activities of a diverse, multi-disciplined, highly energetic, and technically ambitious team. Offering technical assistance to both internal and external customers.
  • Work with extended c R&D resources on new technologies including; electro-optical active components, conductive materials development and electronics packaging development.
  • Assist with the development of manufacture of test fixtures and processes in support of design verification and production test.
  • Travel as required.

Job Skills

  • BSEE (MS preferred) with at least 5 years hands-on design, development and product support experience producing high speed interconnects, optical and electro-optical systems, antenna design and power delivery.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems throughout the course of a product development.
  • Proficiency in using design/analysis tools such as HFSS, SPICE and Matlab to perform engineering tasks.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment requirements, performance specifications, schematics, assembly drawings, parts lists, test procedures, engineering drawings, technical procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Familiarity with EMI, UL, FCC, EC or FDA compliance requirements is a plus.
  • Must be self motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and able to manage projects with minimal supervision, including multiple projects and multi task situations, with the ability to prioritize, set and achieve goals.
  • Excellent understanding of product development methodology and associated documentation.
  • Proficiency with a variety of test equipment commonly found in an engineering lab environment; oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers.
  • Commercial and business acumen is preferred.
  • A good working knowledge of SMT and heat sinks is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
