Job Description

  • Familiar with running the wave solder machine. Must have consistent  prior experience. 
  • Wave Solder machine generates a lot of heat as melted solder is constantly flowing and the conveyor belt is constantly moving. Must be alert, attentive, with attention to detail at all times and understands the safety precautions. 
  • Operates Wave Solder machine.
  • May perform cleaning of printed circuit boards ensuring removal of soldering flux residues.
  • Must have an understanding of the Wave Solder machine and Aqueous Cleaning equipment used and be able to make good judgment concerning operational issues.
  • Must always work in a safe manner as conveyor belts are continually transporting product.
  • May perform maintenance of wash equipment, Ionic testing of assemblies to evaluate cleanliness, record wastewater discharge daily, and monitor DI system for red diagnostic lights and alerts process engineering.
  • Understands safety issues related to assembly cleaning.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive assembly tasks.
  • Reviews engineering documentation for any special requirements.
  • Performs tasks as directed by the Production Manager.
  • Performs Wave Solder operations and Aqueous cleaning to IPC-610 workmanship criteria.

Job Skills

  • Ability to operate Aqueous cleaning equipment
  • Ability to provide routine maintenance to equipment to obtain optimal results
  • Interfaces with managers and peers to resolve issues.
  • Interfaces with Production Manager and Quality for resolution of Quality issues.
  • Participates in company or special training classes with emphasis on employee improvement.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with wave solder equipment required.
  • Ability to use simple mechanical tools, read and understand engineering documentation; determine critical points of assembly
  • Working knowledge of IPC 610
  • Ability to perform Aqueous Cleaning operations
  • Ability to perform machine maintenance
  • Standing most of shift. Some heavy lifting of circuit boards may be required.
