Job Description

This position could be located at our Manchester, CT or Stuart, FL site.

• Provides leadership and structure to all aspects of the Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions required for assuring regulatory and customer requirements are met.
• Provide leadership to support manufacturing and engineering organizations by providing technical reviews and oversight of ISO 9002/AS9100, NAD/CAP, FAA/JAA initiatives.
• Lead quality systems development, lean enterprise initiatives and operational process improvements.
• Responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating the complete product assurance program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products by leading the activities.
• Analyzes, evaluates and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends and design and development of new products.
• Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities.
• Develops initial and subsequent modifications of product assurance program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements and operational procedures within the program.
• Reviews technical publications, articles and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in aerospace/aviation industry.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations.

Job Skills

• B.S. in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and an advanced technical or business degree is preferred.
• 15-20 years of related work experience and 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a similar manufacturing environment. Experience in the aerospace industry strongly preferred.
• Knowledgeable about Quality Systems development and industry standards such as: ISO9002/AS9100/ ISO14001 and NAD/CAP.
• Extensive knowledge of engine products and customers.
• Solid background of Non Destructive Testing, Mechanical Testing and Special Process Control techniques.
• Working knowledge of Calibration System and Supplier System control techniques.
• Technical background in NDT, mechanical testing techniques, calibration, supplier quality system and Special process control is preferred.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing improvement philosophies, lean and six sigma methodologies.
• Ability to lead motivates, develop, coach and drive associates to meet required goals and targets.
• Excellent presentation, written, verbal and communication skills with the ability to interact and work with Employees and customers at all levels of the organization.
• Strong understanding and competency in making tough but fair decisions.
• Strong desire for providing excellent customer satisfaction for the continuous improvement of product quality and delivery.
• Proficient computer skills that include a working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access).
