Job Description
• Performs research, analysis, design of communications systems involving troposcatter, microwave, HF and VHF radio.
• Performs systems design and analysis.
• Should have a strong interest in communications and RF technology.
• Analyzes requirements, develops technical specifications and write documents for systems and products.
• Develop integration plans and procedures for testing of products, equipment cabinets and communication shelters.
• Performs system design, which includes systems performance analysis and design of systems to meet performance objectives.
• Required to participate in the proposal process including costing and writing technical specifications
• Generates system block diagrams, system interconnect drawings, wire-run lists, assembly drawings.
• Works with mechanical engineers on packaging of cabinet mounted equipment, shelter mounted equipment, and design and deployment of antenna systems.
Job Skills
• Detailed understanding of radio communications systems, microwave radio and antennas systems including: Experience with modems, data transmission standards and methods; Satellite communications systems.; Over-the-horizon microwave (troposcatter) systems
• Experience in generating test procedures and working with technical publications specialists to generate system manuals.
• Familiarity with environmental requirements & packaging techniques for systems is a plus.
• Must have or be able to obtain a passport and be available for business travel domestically and internationally.
• Bachelors or higher degree in Electrical Engineering
