Job Description

  • Experience with DoD programs and CPSR compliant subcontracts.
  • Proficient in: preparing bid packages; conducting bidders’ conferences and proposal evaluation; negotiating, administering, managing, and documenting fixed price, cost type, and time and material contracts.
  • Directs activities concerned with subcontracts for purchase or sale of equipment, materials, products, or services.
  • Examines estimates of material, equipment, and production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to insure completeness and accuracy.
  • Compiles data for preparing estimates.
  • Negotiates subcontracts with customer or bidder.
  • Requests or approves amendments to or extensions of subcontracts.
  • Advises technical departments of contractual rights and obligations.
  • Acts as liaison between company and subcontractors.
  • Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team. Interact effectively with program management and technical personnel.

Job Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence, RFP’s, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and contractual language.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, managers, and customers.
  • May require ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Requires computer literacy and must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Ability to review, comment, approve Statements of Work.
  • Must possess knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other applicable government regulations and reporting standards.
  • Prior experience with services contractor to Federal Government (DoD, DoE, etc.) required.
  • Ability to work overtime, scheduled and unscheduled.
  • Experience procuring machined and fabricated components.
  • Useful knowledge of metal machining, fabrication and special processes such as welding and various plating method. Read drawings in order to understand material, tolerance and finishing requirements.
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screening.
