Job Description

• Directly responsible for program/project management, process/manufacturing planning, fixturing/tooling and gaging of simple to complex engine components, assembles and modules throughout the company. • Directs, leads and trains engineers and junior engineers in manufacturing processing, customer drawings and specifications, tooling and gaging approval, quality requirements and company engineering procedures. • Responsibilities also include but are not limited to meeting customer Purchase Order requirements, the disposition of nonconforming material, rework procedures, non-recurring engineering charges, working to a predetermined budget and customer change notices or requests. • Project Management requires teamwork, customer correspondence, project milestones and strong verbal and written communication skills. • Interprets blueprints, dimensions, symbols, and geometric tolerances based on customer specifications. • Able to process complex sheetmetal and machined assemblies. • Conceptualize and design developmental and production tooling. • Proficient in the following CAD software applications: Keycreator or Unigraphics • Have usage skills in Solidworks CAD software. (opening, converting, and sectioning of solid models) • Able to create operations sheets, routings and 3D models. • Able to direct, lead and mentor junior engineers and engineers with respect to company engineering procedures, new product introduction, manufacturing support and tooling. • Able to manage engineering projects by using MS Project and other MS Office products. • Familiarity with specifications and requirements for aerospace component manufacturing that includes having knowledge of aerospace fabrications, machining, laser technology, welding, coatings and heat treatment. • Strong math background including trigonometry and geometry • Able to research, understand and implement new technologies for cost savings and process improvements. • Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and convey complex and issues. Able to lead technical discussions and work in a collaborative team-based environment. • Able to perform concurrent engineering with our customers engineering and technical personnel.

Job Skills

• Sheet-Metal Fab experience • Forming /Welding • Conventional Machining • Basic understanding of Tool design • Basic understanding of layout inspection and gaging • Unigraphics 3d modeling • Generate Engineering work instructions from 3d models • Tool Design Experience • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or equivalent • Engineering and or 6-10 years experience manufacturing in an aerospace manufacturing environment. • Engineering responsibilities include project management.
