Job Description
• This is a hands on software engineering position.
• Support integration and configuration of computational system architecture and system software for real-time simulation applications.
• Previous simulation experience required.
• Determine functional requirements for computer software and simulation architecture.
• Create new simulation models using established and new modeling techniques.
• Design, develop, code, integrate and test simulation software to meet requirements.
• Ability to apply sound engineering principles and develop innovative solutions.
• Ability to independently or work in a team and provide engineering leadership within the team.
• Apply software engineering principles to complete assigned tasks and meet schedule commitments.
• Lead and/or participate in design reviews.
• Prepare, check and coordinate release of support documentation to appropriate program and company standards.
• Communicate systems requirements to other personnel and provide technical leadership and support to other functions.
• Provide technical leadership to some lower grade engineers.
• Supporting hardware/software integration, networking, and diskless boot activities.
Job Skills
• Prior DIS networking experience required.
• Must be eligible to obtain/maintain a US DOD Secret Clearance.
• Basic requirements include, but are not limited to, US Citizenship, Clear Background and Decent Credit.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or 4 additional years of related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years supporting DIS Networking
• Minimum of 9 years software coding in C++
• Minimum of 9 years Real Time Development Experience
• Minimum of 3 years in a Linux environment
• Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Active Secret Clearance Strongly Preferred; Training System simulation experience is preferred.
• Experience working in a LINUX,UNIX based computer system environment. ClearCase, ClearQuest experience a plus. HLA experience a plus.
• Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline
• Proficiency in Ada, FORTRAN, and other programming language experience/knowledge a plus.
