Job Description

• Primary responsibility for protecting the food by conducting food safety and quality sampling, testing, and documentation to meet all regulatory, customer, and ARYZTA requirements.
• Responsible for conducting food safety and quality assurance procedures to ensure ARYZTA is in compliance with best practices for food safety and quality.
• Ensuring all applicable food regulations (international, national, state, and local) are met.
• Ensuring compliance with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards (i.e. BRC, SQF).
• Responsible for sampling, testing, and documentation of the Quality Management System (QMS) including procedures, records, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
• Works to maintain the safety, legality and quality of each food and the processes used in their manufacture.
• Responsible for meeting and exceeding customer requirements
• Works to reduce customer/consumer complaints for foods manufactured on site
• Reports food safety and quality issues to their supervisor
• Authorized to hold product based on food safety or quality non-conformance
• Conducts daily food evaluation to identify possible defects
• Assists in physical bakery inspections on a weekly basis on each area (pest control, operational methods, maintenance for food safety, sanitation, personnel practices, etc.)
• Responsible for assuring materials are received from ARYZTA approved suppliers and conducts raw material supplier performance monitoring

Job Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bi-lingual ability a plus.
• Must have advanced knowledge of effective quality standards, practices and techniques pertaining to food sanitation work.
• Ability to work overtime as required (flexible schedule)
• Ability to motivate the department staff to produce maximum result.
• Ability to learn, implement and work under Lean manufacturing program.
• Computer and office equipment skills and experience.
• Leadership skills and the ability to speak effectively with coworkers or groups of coworkers, supervisors or others within the company.
• High school diploma or equivalent, required
• Minimum of 2 years bakery experience
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of scientific method
• Familiarity with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Ability to keep accurate records
• Strong time management skills
• Knowledgeable in USDA, FDA, EPA, GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, food regulations, basic food technology, sanitary design/control
• Flexibility with working 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rotating shifts
