Job Description

• Analyzes MRP outputs from the master production schedule and releases work orders to the production floor to support the overall plan.
• Coordinates work orders and monitors the progress of each step and troubleshoots problems as they arise.
• Ensures material is available to support the master production schedule and escalate issues as they occur.
• Manages engineering change notices, establishes appropriate inventory levels and internal lead times for assigned item numbers.
• Reviews schedule data for assigned item numbers, as generated through MRP system, analyzes bills of material, delivery and production requirements and related information to plan production operations and material movement.
• Continually reviews assigned item numbers for potential obsolescence by assessing activity level, availability, appropriate substitutions and similar factors. Recommends dispositions of obsolete material and substantiates recommendations to maintain, convert, or obsolete item numbers.
• Keeps production priorities correct, current, complete, and accurate within the assigned department.
• Serves as liaison between the Production Control Department and both the Production floor as well as Inside Sales.
• Coordinates preparation of necessary POA shipping documents with Customer Sales Representatives, Floor Supervisors, and FAA Certification Representative. After preparing and assembling documents, coordinates shipment with the Stockroom and Final QC Departments.
• Prepares Backlog Reports to ensure products are on schedule and communicate issues that may affect our on-time delivery performance.
• Assists in ensuring that Master Schedule completions are maintained at a level that meets company goals and on time delivery targets.
• Interfaces with the Purchasing Department to ensure that component material purchase orders meet schedule requirements.
• Interfaces with order entry to ensure customer orders are on time and report any issues that affect our ability to meet those requirements. Evaluates Manufacturing’s ability to meet the customer’s special requirements.

Job Skills

• Knowledge of MRP systems, computer literacy, knowledge of production operations, scheduling, Bills of Material, and electronics terminology.
• Associates Degree preferred with two+ years of MRP planning experience and experience performing Production Control related duties.
• Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Access) is preferred.
• Green Belt or Black Belt certificate in Six Sigma is preferred.
• Good oral/written communication skills.
• Working knowledge or experience with lean, Kaizen, DMAIC theory is preferred
