Job Description
• Support network and servers, performing support, maintenance, and new implementations to achieve reliable and scalable applications and systems.
• Provide onsite and remote management of server (Windows and some Linux) and network devices (Firewalls-ASA 5510, VPN, switches-Cisco, routers, etc.) including installation, configuration and maintenance.
• Manage VMware ESX/vSphere virtualization platform.
• Perform implementation and changes for new deployments including new virtual machines, installing applications, configuring network devices, setting up VPN tunnels, firewall rules, etc.
• Interface with SQL Server/SharePoint Basis and other application staff on troubleshooting and support.
• Knowledge to provide direction into new technologies and best practices in technologies including patching, anti-virus, imaging, network monitoring, and virtualization.
• Direct experience in server (Windows 2003, 2008, 2012) and network configuration and administration.
Job Skills
• VMware and Cisco IP telephony are preferred.
• Familiarity with Cisco Unified Communications solutions including Call Manager, Unity, Presence, Phones and ATA
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Familiarity with MS Office applications
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Supporting administration of servers and server clusters
• Managing all system back-up and restoring protocol
• Planning and supporting network and computing infrastructure
• Performing troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems
• Documenting problems and resolution for future reference
• Monitoring system performance and implementing performance tuning
• Required Technology: VMWare (ESXI 4/5) including backup and restore); Cisco iOS (Cisco FW ASA 5510 and Cisco Switches including VLAN, ACLs, NAT, Cisco Unified Communications and routing); SharePoint and SQL Server 2005-2008 (SQL Server Reporting Services); AD, DHCP, DNS, Access Control, SFTP, VoIP, TCP/IP etc.; Blue Coat Proxy, Symantec Backup Exec, SAN and NAS
• A.S or preferably a B.S in Information Technology or the correct certifications. At least 2-3 years of experience in information system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation.
• VCP certification is preferred. Other industry certifications are a plus. (MSCE, CCNA, CCNP RHCE, CCA, etc…)
