Job Description

• Perform all aspects necessary for the non-destructive (NDT) testing used in the manufacturing of Turbine Engine components and employee certification test samples according to NAS410 certification level.
• Proficient in proper procedures to set up equipment and perform non-destructive testing (NDT) by methods such as but not limited to radiographic testing and fluorescent penetrant testing.
• Know the proper use, basic maintenance and calibration of X-ray equipment such as but not limited to manual overhead door, thermo luminescent dosimeter badge (TLD or film badge), dosimeter pencil, survey meter, chemical mixer, developer, fixer, film processor, test paper, film viewer, densitometer, X-ray tube and control panel.
• Know the proper use, maintenance and calibration of fluorescent penetrant equipment such as but not limited to PSM-5 panels, dwell tank, dryer, inspection booth, spray gun and water hose.
• Able to perform NDT tests according to procedures and specific criteria based upon current NAS410 certification.
• Able to perform basic NDT evaluations based upon specific criteria and current NAS410 certification.
• Familiarity with Codes, Standards, and other contractual documents that control the method utilized by TCT.
• Maintain current NAS410 Level II certification.
• Participate in the on the job training of NDT Trainees.
• Learn to develop NDT procedures for new products and improve procedures for current products.

Job Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience for certification to Level II status is based upon NAS/410 QWI 16 requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before employees in the organization.
