Job Description

• Performs inspection tasks involving the use of a wide variety of standard and precision test instruments and equipment.
• First article, first piece, receiving, visual and final inspection of aerospace components.
• Determines acceptability of manufactured components, identifies and recommends disposition of defective items in accordance with established procedures.
• Able to work independently to verify the conformance of machined and sheet metal details and assemblies according to operation sheets, customer specifications, and drawings.
• Ensures materials and products are in accordance with established tolerance levels for quality and performance and are not irregular or damaged.
• Identifies and recommends disposition of defective items in accordance with established procedures.
• Effectively reads and understands blueprints, engineering documents, inspection manuals and procedures.
• An understanding of aerospace requirements and geometric tolerances.
• Perform complex set-ups and dimensional analysis for first article and in-process parts.
• Maintains accuracy and attention to detail at all times and completes tasks in a timely manner.
• Complete knowledge of dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspection processes.
• Proficient in the use of shop math to calculate dimensions and has knowledge of special process requirements.
• Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and OEM self release (DQR, DSQR, etc.) experience is desirable.
• Contributes to continuous improvement and supports 6S initiatives
• Generates suggestions for improving work; develops innovative approaches and ideas.

Job Skills

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in layout inspection.
• Proficient with geometric dimensions and tolerances.
• Aerospace industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Able to effectively communicate in the English language both in the verbal and written form.
• Light industrial work setting. Job involves lifting up to 30lbs. in a manufacturing environment that may occasionally require the employee to work in a number of awkward positions.
