Job Description
- Performs a wide variety of complex and difficult inspections in the production/assembly process, incoming through final system assembly and shipping.
- Conducts critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical test and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials.
- Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Performs complex and critical inspection procedures, requiring special set-ups of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources.
- Performs a wide range of inspections to ensure quality levels and accuracy to contract requirements.
- Records discrepancies and reports in measurable categories.
- Works with Quality Assurance engineers using statistical techniques to identify process weaknesses. Assists others in correcting or preventing deficiencies in quality of workmanship.
- Records all inspection results and maintains statistical information/techniques to identify process weakness.
- May assist in the development and implementation of Process Improvement Plan. Monitors progress to ensure that improvements are effective.
- Supports other inspection/audit functions as required by performing visual inspection of complex Electro/mechanical assemblies to blueprints, ECO’s and established written procedures.
- May conduct first article inspection of parts, assemblies, equipment and tooling.
- May assist lower –level inspectors in the performance of their duties.
Job Skills
- Technical, Trade, or vocational high school graduate or equivalent (i.e. Military schooling). Requires five (5) or more years of increasing difficult inspection experience with working knowledge of all inspection techniques and instruments.
- Requires through knowledge of a wide variety of inspection methods and equipment such as micrometers, veriner calipers, height gauges and dial indicators, oscilloscope, multimenter, component testers and the like.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic assembly and soldering workmanship standards.
- Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office applications.
- Must have ability to work well with others, possess good communication skills, and be able to work with versatility and flexibility in a multi-task environment.
- Must be able to lift thirty-five (35) pounds unaided.
- Must be able to pass background and drug screening.
