Job Description

  • Utilize understanding of digital CCA design process including requirements generation, preliminary design, peer reviews, detailed design, test plan generation, and integration and test
  • Understand the requirements and architect a digital CCA solution including the use of TI DSP processors, Freescale or Intel      Processors, Microcontrollers, FPGA, CPLD, and volatile/no-volatile memory (DDRx, SRAM, ROM, Flash…) components
  • Designing of fiber-optic communication systems
  • Fibre Channel network protocols
  • Architecting and designing fiber-optic systems, particularly short wavelength (850 nm), multi-mode systems
  • Designing of 850 nm, VCSEL/PIN based, high-speed custom fiber optic transceiver modules
  • COTS fiber optical transmitter/receiver modules (SFP, QSFP, etc.)
  • Designing of 10G Ethernet based Network Interface or 10G Ethernet Switch designs
  • Utilize xperience designing and understanding of IPV4 or IPV6
  • Working with board technologies such as HDI, Meg6, and back drilling
  • Utilize Cadence software suite used to generate the circuit card designs (Schematic Capture, Constraint-Driven, Layout, Simulation, and Timing Analysis)

Job Skills

  • BS Degree in electrical/computer engineering
  • 10+ years of related experience (or 8+ years of related experience with a Master’s degree)
  • DoD Secret security clearance
  • Experience with Avionics designs
  • Experience designing high speed memory interfaces (DDRx)
  • Experience with high speed serial protocols (PCIe/Gen3 PCIe, SRIO, Ethernet)
  • Experience with design for test and design for manufacturability techniques
  • Experience using the RF simulation tool ADS to characterize high speed board routing
  • Experience using Cadence Incisive Enterprise Simulator, Subversion, Python or Perl
  • Ability to write C++ and use Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Ability to work in a team environment and negotiate solutions with Hardware / Software Engineering and Systems Engineering is desired
  • Understanding of efficiency metrics such as hours/schematic page (Productivity and Quality)
  • Lean Six Sigma certified or practitioner
  • Ability to work independently and has strong technical leadership to lead a team of designers in generating the digital CCA design solutions and support the complete testing and qualification of the deliverable system
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screening.
