Job Description
• Assist in program set-up and operation of all E. D. M. machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets.
• Assist in loading and deleting programs in the computer.
• Familiar with metallurgical properties, heat treatment of steel and alloy metals.
• Familiar with the machinability of metals.
• Be familiar with temperature changes caused by machine operations and the use of proper coolants.
• Check parts using specified gages or check parts using furnished fixtures to see that dimensions are being maintained.
• Assist in reporting improper machine function and/or check parts not being held to the proper dimensions.
• Able to use machinists hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Job Skills
• Entry Level Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Intermediate Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) to five (5) years related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
