Job Description
- The role will be primarily located in St. Petersburg, FL and will require travel between our Woburn, MA office and possibly other customer sites/locations.
- We are looking for a talented Software and Systems Test professional to perform verification and validation (V&V) testing on new and existing products.
- Ideal candidate will not only be analytical and technically adept, but also possess prior system test experience (software and hardware; including networking components) with a focus on a solutions based, efficient, and effective test approach.
- A strong understanding of the system development life cycle and a passion for quality is essential to ensure delivery of robust and scalable detection solutions, which meet the needs of our customers.
- Work with internal customers and stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of customer/product requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to create functional/system/software design specifications.
- Analyze customer and internal requirements to generate V&V Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
- Create and maintain standard test suites for L3 products, with a focus on test plan flexibility and scalability appropriate for the scope of the hardware/software change.
- Use internal and external requirement documents to develop and execute test plans/procedures including requirement qualification methods (analysis, demonstration, inspection, and test), requirement validation traceability, functional/performance testing, regression testing, and test report generation.
- Able to investigate/troubleshoot functional issues discovered during V&V testing to the relevant subsystem (software/hardware; including networked components).
- Conduct cross-functional defect reviews to communicate bugs/errors and reach consensus on the appropriate resolution.
Job Skills
- BS in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred), Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years relevant experience in a Software and/or Systems Test Engineer role.
- Must be capable of reviewing technical documents (e.g. requirements, component data sheets, part specifications, etc.) to determine test scope.
- Strong familiarity with the Product Realization Process and System Development Life Cycle (including Unit testing, Engineering Test & Evaluation, Regression testing, and Design Verification & Validation testing).
- Experience using various operating systems such as Linux and Windows.
- Experience developing/implementing test automation tools as part of the V&V test approach.
- Experience with software debug/bug tracking tools such as Bugzilla, Change Synergy, and JIRA.
- Proficient with MS Office; including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Secret clearance preferred or able to obtain upon employment.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma experience/certification preferred.

- Attention to detail is critical and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is required.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced work environment with shifting priorities, limited day-to-day supervision, and possess a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Able to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must be able to pass drug and background screening, including credit.
