Job Description
• Responsible for focusing on replacement of obsolete general office desktop computing systems with the installation of new desktop/ systems.
• Rotate with Data Technicians to identify systems being replaced and imaging new desktop systems.
• Ensure user data and settings are identified.
• Ensure old desktop systems is backed-up.
• Run Desktop DNA to preserve user settings.
• Replace with new desktop system
• Migrate peripherals such as scanners and printers.
• Restore user data and user specific settings.
• Validate hardware and applications are functioning properly.
• Each technician will have the opportunity to perform rework or address.
• Installs of non-standard hardware or software on a rotational basis.
• Document process and identify areas requiring follow-up.
Job Skills
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Computer Technician; Helpdesk Technician; Computer Support, IT Support
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with desktop hardware and Microsoft’s operating systems (Windows 7 and XP)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Exchange 2000 and 2003
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with remote, phone, and onsite computer support
• Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Must have good communication skills and penmanship for documenting install; Provide timely performance and reporting to meet project objectives; Previous experience with a DoD (Department of Defense) contractor
• High School or GED
