Job Description

• Provide robust CNC programs to facilitate the manufacture of assigned components.
• Analyze drawings, sketches and design data of the parts to determine the dimension and configuration of the cuts
• Review fixturing and provide support for fixture design as required.
• Evaluate cutting tools.
• Select appropriate tools and machine speeds and feed rates according to the machine shop processes, part specifications, tool manufacture recommendations and machine capabilities.
• Create initial instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide set-up and operation of the machine.
• Document all set-up information and coordinate with engineering to insure work instructions include all pertinent information to set up and operate the program on the designated machine.
• Optimize existing programs.
• Possess a thorough understanding of quality control procedures and ensure the quality control standards are maintained.
• Maintain production schedules from prototype through production.
• Provide shop floor support for the life of the program.
• Perform duties/responsibilities related to this position as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
• Recommend safety & ergonomic improvements in our material handling devices, manufacturing tools, and workstations to accommodate best practices for shop floor personnel.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Job Skills

• Two Year Technical Degree in Engineering or related technical field
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing industry
• Unigraphics NX experience required
• Experience in operating and programming CNC equipment
• Must be proficient using Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of G code programming.
• CAD solid modeling experience is required.
• Must have excellent mathematical skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding and reasoning to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems with several variables simultaneously.
• Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and on a team
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
