Job Description
- Follow verbal and written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Assure the work environment is safe, secure, ethical, and legal
- Report problems with product quality, manufacturing processes, and materials to Quality Assurance Manager
- Communicate with raw material suppliers to provide material quotes
- Identify and establish new supplier relationships in order to procure required raw materials.
- Procure raw materials in accordance with work instructions and company policies.
- Provide supplier performance data as required.
- Place order and ensure product is shipped according to deadlines.
- Maintain records and follow up files of purchasing.
Job Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering and/or contract manufacturing environment with 1 year of purchasing related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks
- Working knowledge of electronic component sources, bills-of-material, approved vendor lists.
- Strong analytical and negotiating skills to create the best deals with suppliers and strong computer proficiency (MS Office)
- Able to multi-task and meet demanding deadlines
- Read and understand blueprints and engineering documentation (e.g. assembly drawings, and component specifications) including industry workmanship standards
- May be required to use and handle hazardous materials
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs
- May be required to lift up to 25lbs
