Job Description

• Demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives.
• Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy and management/leadership of hourly/ salary staff including direct labor, engineering and quality staff, and cell supervisors.
• Provide leadership to all organizations and individuals in the business unit in order to meet customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery
• Provide development of staff leaders to guide plant and support organizations
• Leverage continuous improvement skills to troubleshoot and fully optimize the production operations through all shifts, utilizing systems assets and resources
• Work with customers, functional leaders, and internal staff to meet organizational requirements
• Lead the establishment and attainment of business unit goals in quality, cost, schedule, compliance and safety
• Ensure schedule attainment by utilizing production monitoring tools, production troubleshooting and problem resolution initiatives
• Establish and maintain the plant vision for success
• Facilitate the leadership team in strategic decision-making and problem-solving
• Provide leadership development and performance feedback to the business unit staff
• Develop and track expense and investment budgets with the input of each organization
• Establish and adjust an organizational structure that best supports the business unit goals and measurements
• Such items as directed by the Site Leader.

Job Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related field.
• At least 10 years of manufacturing experience.
• Prior experience managing manufacturing operations in the aerospace industry
• Six Sigma training is preferred
• Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously
• Ability to work in a matrix organization
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team projects
• Strong project and team leadership
