Job Description

• Responsible for the Systems Engineering activities for various military and commercial avionics system upgrades which are compliant with FAA Communications, Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) requirements, including the FAA and/or military certification process.
• Defining avionic system architectures, trade studies, requirements definition and allocation, specification and statement of work development, system interface definition and control.
• Support of hardware and software development and certification, aircraft Group A installation design concept.
• Support of system qualification and test, technical management of subcontractor activities.
• Customer interface including coordination with military and federal certification authorities, and design review preparation and presentation.
Support subsystem/equipment integration within the Avionics Systems Integration Lab (SIL) simulation environment.
• Leading the development of technical concepts for supporting new business pursuits and leading technical teams on IRAD projects.
• Demonstrated ability to execute aircraft avionics modification projects and lead cross-functional teams with strong communication skills which are necessary to effectively coordinate integration and certification activities across multiple engineering disciplines and support organizations.
• Sets the highest ethical standards for self and others.

Job Skills

• Relevant experience in the following CNS/ATM requirements and equipment: Required Navigation Performance (RNP); Mode S Transponders; Mode 5 Interrogator, Friend or Foe (IFF); Automatic Dependence Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B); Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS); Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS); Cockpit Voice and Flight Data Recorders (CVR/FDR); Global Position System (GPS) & Inertial Navigation System (INS); Controller/Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC); Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS); SATCOM Voice and Data Link Communications; VHF Data Link (VDL) Mode 2; Flight Management Systems (FMS)
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
• 8 years relevant experience in aircraft avionics systems.
• Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel as required.
• Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
