Job Description

• Responsible for assisting in the construction, modifications, conditioning and pre-production phases of new dies.
• Coordinate the development of new dies from inception through final conditioning to their release to manufacturing for production.
• Participate in Tool Design Reviews and recommend improvements to optimize molding, setup, and overall manufacturing
• Identify key products characteristics to be monitored at Product validation and during production phase.
• Complete product validations being capable of generating process window / IQ / OQ / PQ protocols and reports for new and existing product lines
• Evaluate costs of rebuilding and/or making modifications to existing dies. Determines if the repair or modification of existing dies would be more feasible then purchasing them from an outside vendor.
• Responsible for making changes in design and methods of processing existing dies.
• Review vendor capability, may select vendors and evaluates vendor quotations on dies. Responsible for maintaining effective vendor-company relations and for reappraising vendor capacity in order to maintain quality of critical and precision made dies.
• Review and coordinate New Product Releases and Engineering Change

Job Skills

• Bachelor degree in an engineering related field
• 5 years of prior work experience in die engineering related field
• Product/process sustaining and working in a medical environment preferred
• Strong knowledge in Validation processes (IQ, OQ, PQ)
• Stamping process development
• Experience in problem solving implementation
• Knowledge on statistical analysis
• Quality and process control knowledge and implementation (FMEA, CP, SPC)
• Experience in Six Sigma & LEAN
