Job Description
• Seeking a Senior CAD designer with 5 plus years of experience.
• Must be fluent in SolidWorks, 3-D CAD software for Part modeling, assembly and drafting.
• Electronics packaging experience including harness design and be familiar with designing with sheet metal, brazements and machined parts.
• Works under direction of Mechanical Engineering personnel.
• SDRC IDEAS, AutoCAD 2-D and familiarity with PCB Design a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office desirable.
• Designs LRU that will hold all of the components in the design using 3-D CAD design software.
• Researches the availability of standard or interchangeable parts to keep cost as low as possible.
• Completes a tolerance analysis to ensure that all components will fit into space provided given stated tolerances.
Job Skills
• Enters all details on the specifications of the part including dimensions, tolerances, finishes, assembly information, and materials used
• Checks the relationship of one part to another and of all parts to the entire structure.
• Assigns part numbers and file names as per established procedures.
• Provides technical guidance and advice to lower level staff members.
• Work under minimum supervision of the design leader.
• Technical drafting training or an associate’s degree
