Job Description
• Performs routine precision mechanical inspections of various parts and components made by manufacturers/vendors as well as in house machine shop.
• Responsible for accurately maintaining and updating inspection records.
• Set up and perform mechanical inspection on various parts, components, and assemblies.
• Must be capable of competently setting up and using various precision measuring equipment such as surface plate, height gage, CMM, and other measuring devices and techniques.
• When necessary, process and prepare defective components for return to vendor (e.g., initiate rejection report, state findings, and acquire disposition).
• Assist others in correcting or preventing deficiencies in quality and workmanship. Must offer as much cooperation as possible without overstepping limits of responsibility.
Job Skills
• Must have knowledge of machine shop practices and a sold knowledge of shop math.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Technical, trade, or vocational high school graduate preferred.
• Minimum of 2-5 years mechanical inspection experience.
